Greg Montgomery, 36, of GS Construction and Property Maintenance, faces a second-degree charge of theft by failure to make a required disposition, according to the office of Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato.

Montgomery was placed in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River in lieu of $35,000 bail.

Investigators contend that Montgomery accepted the payments in October 2013 and April 2014 to raise and renovate a house in Bayville, then left the job undone.

Authorities advise those with similar complaints against the company to reach Detective Brad Frank of the Prosecutor's Financial Crimes Unit, 732-929-2027.
