ASBURY PARK - While many mark the fifth anniversary of Superstorm Sandy by measuring our recovery to date, some will greet it with a sobering look at the future. Their concern is climate change, and they'll rally around their cause Sunday in Asbury Park.

The New Jersey League of Conservation Voters labels the rally Hands Across The Boards. Members say that they have invited more than a dozen groups with aims in common to the Boardwalk, at Convention Hall, October 29 at 2 PM, rain or shine.

Underscoring concerns of climate change are fears of rising sea levels, increasingly powerful and increasingly frequent storms, and the enhanced risk to lives and property. Demonstrators plan to point out the steps that they believe are needed to avert future catastrophes.

After hearing from local survivors and officials who, literally, wethered the storm, attendees will link hands across the boardwalk.
