Thursday’s show will feature the four-piece along with fellow vocal group The New York Voices and legendary Jazz vocalist and lyricist Jon Hendricks.

The event has a special significance for the Grammy winning group, member Tim Hauser is an alumni of St. Rose and Alan Paul (a Newark native) grew up visiting the Jersey Shore.

“I used to spend all my summers at the shore.” Says Paul “so it kind of touched a point for me as well. We all have family and friends that were hit by Sandy.”

All the proceeds from the benefit concert will go towards rebuilding the music department of St. Rose, which was especially hard by the flood waters of Sandy.

“The whole bottom layer of the school was completely underwater. Ironically they had eighteen sea turtles and about 250 fish that were in there.”

Paul notes the timing of the benefit concert is important, because while the attention nationwide is starting to wane, there’s still a great need for relief.

“It initially happened, it was nationwide. There was coverage and everyone was talking about it, but then time passes by and people forget.”

Twilight voices consists of Tim Hauser, Alan Paul, Janis Siegal, and Cheryl Bentyne. Their hits include “Boy from New York City”, “Twilight Zone/Twilight Tone”, “Route 66”, and “Birdland”.
