Throughout New Jersey many are chipping in and finding ways to raise money for those affected by Hurricane Sandy. Below is a list of events that you may like to take part in to help those in need.

Cape May County

Saturday, 11/17 -Cape May Care Stompin’ Hurricane Sandy benefit concert  at the Cape May Convention Center at 8PM. Performers include The Fred Hall Orchestra, pop/rock group Twelve:01 and Red Mare, a collaboration of seasoned musicians. Tickets are available for $20 the night of the benefit. Essex County

Thursday,11/15: The Kessler Foundation presents Rebuilding Lives After Hurricane Sandy: A Benefit for People With Disabilities, a concert featuring comedian Jeff Norris, the premiere 80’s cover band the Emulators and The Platinum Band at The Grove in Cedar Grove from 7PM-10PM. Sunday, 11/18 - The Cathedral Choir and Chamber Orchestra of the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Newark will conduct a Memorial Concert for those affected by Superstorm Sandy at in the Cathedral Basilica, 89 Ridge Street., Newark beginning at 4PM. The primary selection in this concert will be Eternal Light: A Requiem (2008), by the Emmy Award-winning British composer and internationally acclaimed broadcaster Howard Goodall. Ocean County

Thursday,11/15: Toms River East will be hosting a pasta diner for students and their families only. No volunteers are needed at this time, but food donations are kindly appreciated. They can be dropped off at the school on Thursday night. The dinner for Toms River East is from 4pm-9pm.

Sunday, 11/18/12: 5th Annual Steven Sprague Memorial Run: Toms River East High School- all proceeds will be donated to the Toms River students and families affected by Hurricane Sandy. Registration is at 8am, Mile fun run begins 9am and 5K race begins at 9:30a. You can register online by clicking here: stevenspraguememorialrun.com. You can also drop off donations such as: school supplies, winter gear and gift cards. Benefit T-shirts will also be for sale on site. Registration for race and Mile Fun Run is $20.

Sun, 11/18: WLTS TV-21, the Student Government Association and National Honor Society present the Provide For The Pride from 3 PM to 8 PM at Lacey Township High School located at 73 Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor. The Lacey Food Bank and Lacey United Methodist Church Hurricane Relief Outreach will be onsite to collect donations. Community organizations will speak to people in attendance about how they can help with hurricane relief. Entertainment will be provided by Lacey students and staff. Thursday, 11/22 - The Toms River High School South Key Club hold a Pancake Breakfast to benefit families & teachers affected by Sandy before the annual Toms River South vs. Lakewood football game from 8AM-12noon. Call (732)240-6676  for additional information.

Friday, 11/30 -  Latitudes in Forked River hosts  their Benefit For Hope Relief For Hurricane Sandy Concert  from 7PM-11PM.  Enjoy an evening of music featuring The Apple Pickers Union, prizes, food and more.  Call 732-779-6903 for tickets and more information.
