In the wake of Superstorm Sandy, Ocean County AmeriCorps is seeking volunteers to assist with their clean-up efforts.

Currently the organization is hard at work assisting residents with storm-damaged homes with debris removal and hauling. For every individual volunteer hour recorded, FEMA will reimburse the state of New Jersey for $21.50.

If you are a homeowner in need of assistance with manual labor or a volunteer looking to offer your time, contact the Ocean County AmeriCorps Response Team at or call them at 732-804-9859. For help in Monmouth County call 609-508-2500. The group can also be found on Facebook.
