Christie, Sweeney Praise Light Up New Jersey

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and Senate President Steve Sweeney have issued official letters praising tonight's Light Up New Jersey commemoration of Superstorm Sandy and how New Jersey 101.5 and its sister stations got information to the public before, during and after the storm.

"Tonight serves  as an opportunity to recognize the many challenges that Superstorm Sandy brought to to our communities and how our residents came together to help one another get back on their feet," wrote the governor. "I join with everyone tonight in applauding the compassion and generosity demonstrated by residents throughout our state in the aftermath of the historic storm."

The Senate President echoed Christie's sentiments. "As people across New Jersey join together to 'Light Up New Jersey' it is important that we honor the heroic efforts and attitudes of the year past we also must remember the job that isn't done....we have come a long way since October 29 of last year, but our work is not complete."

Sweeney also cited role played by our stations during the storm. "Townsquare Media and its network of radio stations across the state acted as a helpful and responsive part of the New Jersey community during the time of crisis when Sandy came ashore and it has continued to help serve the needs created by Sandy," wrote Sweeney.
