It's almost Prom season, and while many girls are starting to shop for their special dresses, some don't have that luxury.

Two local groups are coming together to make sure that every girl affected by Hurricane Sandy can be perfectly dressed for prom, graduation, and other upcoming special events.Operation Jersey Shore Santa and Shore2Share have collected special occasion dresses and gowns, along with some shoes and accessories for area girls in need.

Distribution will be on Saturday, March 23rd from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Sawmill/The Green Room at 1807 Boardwalk in Seaside Park.

Girls can try on dresses in multiple colors, styles, and sizes, and leave with any dress they choose at no cost. There will also be limited numbers of shoes and accessories available.

This is a great way to help struggling families at the shore. Prom can be incredibly expensive, but it's something that Sandy shouldn't be able to take away.

Registration and FEMA ID numbers are required for the event.
