Wearing the infamous fleece pullover he wore in the days following Hurricane Sandy the Governor appeared at center court of the Edmund P. Joyce Center in South Bend, Indiana during Notre Dame's game against Rutgers to accept a check for $10,003  raised by auctioning off game-worn jerseys, tickets to upcoming games and other items according to the Notre Dame athletic department.

“Mike called me right after the storm and said they wanted to try and do something with the basketball program,” Christie told WNDU TV. “The University wanted to do something to raise money. Incredible generosity by the Notre Dame family we really appreciate it.”
